I had a water event in my home that needed extensive repairs. as a retired builder and building inspector I fully endorse C&K for thier excelence from the bidding to the staff. all of the employees are lovely people doing excellant work. Lloyd was a good comunicator and his reccomendations of products were right on. The work went smoothly. We are enjoying the finish and I will not hesitate to hire C&K again. C&K is well worth the price. The installation was done according to the manufactures spcifications ,something as an inspector I often found not correct because the contractor was hiring subcontractors who were cutting corners. something I value are local people who stand by thier work. I enjoyed all the staff who had worked for C&K for a long time. Keep in mind when you hire a contractor that you will have the employees in your home. C&K hires employees whose skills are top of the line. Lloyd provides good advice about products, supervision is great, and the communication about times workers will be at the house and what and when the work will be done was excellent.Posted on Google
james taylor54 days agoI had a good deal of water damage in my ceiling and laundry room after a hose disconnected from the washer. Lloyd and the team took great care to get my home back to looking like new. From dry wall repair, to be LVP in the laundry room. They were very easy to work with from day one. Communication was on point, and they got the job complete faster than I expected then to. I can't recommend them enough.Posted on Google
Franklin Gilbert86 days agoI am now a two-time client of C&K Custom Remodeling. The first project involved preserving a legacy structure that belonged to my grandfather. It required craftsmanship, planning, experience, and a level of care that meant a great deal to me. The second... was a kitchen remodel. Now, some people—Lloyd included—may insist this was simply an inconvenient urgent part of a larger remodel to come for them. Those people lack clarity of what a homeowner with a partially working kitchen feels in the moment. Lloyd approached the project exactly as I would expect from the owner of one of Oregon's premier remodeling companies. Existing conditions were evaluated. A remediation strategy was developed. Long-term planning discussions were initiated. Specialized lighting was needed and deployed. Material procurement required an expedited off-site acquisition. Fortunately, the required materials were located locally, minimizing schedule impacts. Construction commenced immediately. I honestly expected an estimate, a schedule, perhaps a project manager. Instead, I walked back into my kitchen to find the owner himself sitting cross-legged in front of my 1902 plumbing, quietly solving problems. I have great confidence that Lloyd understands 100 year old home issues better than most. The demolition phase was brief. Reconstruction was equally successful. Commissioning exceeded expectations. While the project ultimately exceeded the original schedule by a few hours, C&K absorbed the additional labor without a change order (if there was to be one, I know Mr. Martindale would have let me know way ahead of billing). Despite unforeseen field conditions inherent to an old home, the project concluded under budget, ahead of schedule, and with zero punch-list items. The owner remained engaged throughout, providing consultation regarding future phases of the kitchen remodel. When I asked if there was anything I should do before the larger project begins, Lloyd looked at me for a moment and professionally replied, "Please don't." As someone who has attempted home improvement before, I understood exactly what he meant. And, in getting to spend some time with Mr. Martindale, I trust his what has to be decades and decades in the industry. The reason I'm writing a review this long for what Lloyd insists was a simple "fix" and a band aid until the major construction begins, all kidding aside this was a project far far above my abilities. The owner of one of Oregon's best remodeling companies didn't think the job was beneath him. He rolled up his sleeves, got to work before his much younger leader arrived. C&K fixed the problem correctly, explained what had failed, talked through the future remodel, and charged me fairly. That tells me everything I need to know about how he runs his company. Professionalism isn't just about the million-dollar remodels you see on a website. Sometimes it's about how someone treats a partial "emergency" install for an existing client while keeping an eye on the future construction. If C&K treats a "major kitchen remodel" like this, I have complete confidence trusting them with the actual major kitchen remodel that's coming. Five stars.Posted on Google
Dan Perich115 days agoGreat experience, outstanding results! C&K Custom Remodeling recently completed full renovations of our primary bathroom and garage, and we were delighted with both the process and the results. Our primary bathroom renovation exceeded our expectations, creating a beautiful, comfortable space that we enjoy every day. Our garage renovation was equally impressive. C&K transformed it into a highly functional and surprisingly attractive space with custom storage cabinets, a slatwall system for organizing landscape tools and equipment, upgraded lighting, and a beautiful epoxy floor coating that transformed both its look and usability. C&K is a small team of quality-minded professionals who took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and what mattered most to us throughout the project. While any major renovation is disruptive, communication was excellent at every stage, and we always knew what to expect with no surprises. Their subcontractors were consistently professional and respectful of both us and our home. C&K’s process may not be the fastest, and quality craftsmanship comes at a cost, but the results are beautiful and of exceptional quality. Without hesitation, C&K would be our first choice for any future remodeling projects. We highly recommend them for outstanding workmanship and a professional, customer-focused experience.Posted on Google

Bergerson Teams136 days agoWhat a great experience working with C&K. They were extremely responsive, and on it! Bryan was traveling from the Portland area to meet our crews on an Astoria project. He was on time, easy to work with, always answered phone calls when we had a question. Hope to work with them again!Posted on Google

Mona Westhaver143 days agoI wanted a new master bathroom and a mix of things done to the house. C&K did a great job. Wallpaper - I wanted new wall paper on a accent wall on the dining room. Ended up doing the entire room - they did a great job on preparing the walls and applying the wallpaper. In a half bath I wanted to change it into a nice powder room. I got new wallpaper, they painted the cabinet and painted the rest of the wood in the room to match. They found a new light and scones that went with the theme of the paper. In the great room I had a problem with the paint on cabinets peeling. They had to refinish all the cabinet work and in some cases they picked new colors to upgrade the look. I got new tile work in the kitchen which was a pain to install as the walls were not flat. They installed it perfectly. In the office I had a jack and Jill setup with build-ins on either side of the wall and a window seat between. They took out one set of build-ins, painted the whole thing, and wove in new hardwood flooring They even took some of the cabinet they took out and installed it in the wall that had existing cabinetry. . They even added new electrical. Now I have a perfect reading space as well as a functional office. The new master bathroom is beautiful and functional. I had a problem in the old one of water splashing on the cabinets and ruining the wood. Also the material used in the shower was staining. Wall mounted sink faucets and the use of porcelain slabs in the shower created beauty but also functionality. I am very happy with the work C&K did and would use them again! Many thanks for making my house both beautiful and functional.+3Posted on Google
Rick Turner173 days agoI only met Lloyd because I found his wallet in a parking lot 5 years ago when I was just an aimless carpenter with a van. Since that day Lloyd has repeatedly gone out of his way to coach me through the growing pains of starting my own contracting business and if it wasn't for his kindness and understanding of the industry then the company I started likely wouldn't have made it. If you're in the market for a contractor and you're looking for a contractor with an unmatched content of character that will advocate for you through the entire process and deliver an insanely high level of service then Lloyd and C&K remodeling are the company you're looking for.Load more
